So we were riding along when a car pulled over to the side of the road in front of us. A lady got out and flagged us down and asked for a minute of our time. She started to tell us about her daughter Kris who was killed in a bad automobile accident. She said "Here I want to give this to you and your son." She gave us some money for our bicycle ride in September that will be from coast to coast. As we talked she was crying and told me how she does an act of kindness everyday, since her daughters passing. Her donation will go to one of our charities. As I rode along I thought about her and her daughter and the pain she is going through. After we left Smith and Edwards we rode to Willard Bay then turned around. We stopped at the stake center and set in the shade and had some lunch. I told my son Conrad how I felt, and had been praying as we rode. I broke down, and yes, real men do cry. I couldn't imagine the pain of losing a child. Just so you all know that women's name is Kathi Tree and daughter was Kris Tree. If you see her, or know her, give her a hug as I did yesterday. She is amazing and thank you Kathi for sharing your story with me.
